Lethe Fact/History 2006-2008

Lethe was formed in the beginning of year 2006. Back then the project was called 'Slain'.
About a year after slain was formed, few members left because of they moved in to different
City. Joni started to gather new members in to a whole new project called Lethe. Joni took a
call to his old friend Ville and asked, if he would like to play bass in this new project. After
Ville joined, Lethe started to look for a drummer and second guitarist. Ville told to Joni that
his cousins littlebrother can play drums, and Joni knew lots of guys that can play guitar.
Pasi Portaankorva(Guitar) Tomi Piirainen(Drums) joined the band.

Lethe started to do what they do best. Music.

Joni had few songs already ready so that Lethe could test how this project in a whole, would sound.
It sounded great, everybody was excited. After two months however, there started to be a problem
between Joni and Tomi. their chemistry were so different so band decided to kick drummer and start
search for new one. New drummer found pretty quick, since Joni got a hint that there is a 14 year
old boy that is a god compared to his young age. Jussi Voutilainen joined the project after 3 months
from the beginning of Lethe. Few months went pretty quick with new drummer, but in the summer of
2007 there started to be problems with second guitarist Pasi. Pasi was kind of a lazy, and shined with
his absence. Pasi was kicked out from the band.
Joni, Ville and Jussi however believed that they sound pretty good only with three of them. So Lethe
was now a Trio. And it really helped the band to go on.
In the end of year 2007 Lethe recorded it's first single called 'No Signs'. No Signs was a success.
The song No Signs got in the list of Top40 Metalsongs and reached 12. place in Mikseri.net . In the first
single, you can hear lots of potential and strong riffs that sounds awesome.

2008, January

Lethe was alive and kicking and continued making ass-kicking songs. Band had its first gigs in the
beginning of year 2008. Bands live act was and is really really energic and it can be sensed from
the crowd. Boys are in their elements when they are on stage. Anyway, Ville took a call to studio
and decided date for new demo recording. Lethe went to studio in May 2008 and recorded it's second
single 'As You Sow'. As You Sow was success also, and it's really the best of Lethe ever. Agressive,
Potential, Faster.. Better.

Lethe now

Lethe now is prepairing for new gigs and making new songs with its awesome assembly. Lethe isn't going
to record new demo in the near future. We wait for the right moment to record our strongest demo ever.
Lethe is a metalcore band formed by three young
guys from lapland, finland. Lethe plays extremely
agressive metal music for people that love metal.
